Cleverly Concealed Gable Box-Windowed

‘Hideaway’ Featured Amazing Architecture

Surrounded on all sides by gently sloping terrain, due to the low nature of the thoughtfully designed boundary fence lines, ‘Hideaway’s’ garden benefits from an abundance of uninterrupted natural light for approximately 70% of the day. This generous amount of sunlight renders this enchanting garden of immense value to the current owners, who possess a deep love and keen appreciation for the art of gardening. The overall design incorporates a cleverly concealed contemporary gable box-windowed extension, complemented by a skin that seamlessly extends these two simple forms. Together, they create a harmonious composition of coherent materials, intricately detailed to resonate with a subtle yet familiar piece of architecture.

Spacious Open-Plan Transformative Space

Expansive Open Connections

A thoughtfully designed new side extension will provide a spacious, open-plan kitchen and living area, while the existing kitchen within the building will be transformed into a separate, inviting dining room, complemented by a convenient ground floor shower room. The redesign of the hallway and staircase aims to optimize the use of space both above and below, enhancing functionality and flow throughout the home. This design seeks to create more expansive open views and foster a better connection with the extensive, beautifully landscaped garden space that surrounds the property. Additionally, we will incorporate strategies to allow as much natural light as possible to flood into the new rooms, ensuring a bright and welcoming atmosphere.

Enhancing Functionality & Flow

Navigating The Constrained

Creating a highly bespoke and contemporary extension to a relatively new property situated within a picturesque conservation area presents a unique challenge. This project entails working within the confines of a tight end-of-mews property, which adds an additional layer of complexity. Navigating construction during a pandemic not only tested our resilience but also required innovative thinking and adaptive planning. Despite the constraints of working on a tight budget, we focused on retaining high-quality details that truly enhance the overall design. Furthermore, we are developing bespoke window and blind solutions specifically tailored to accommodate the expansive glazing, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic appeal are perfectly balanced.
