Alter Architects is excited to celebrate their third successful year in the beautiful region of Cornwall. After engaging with a variety of innovative projects throughout the entire county, company founder and principal Architect, Grant Shepherd, boldly decided to take the plunge and establish a new office for Alter in Cornwall's vibrant capital, Truro. Our strong desire to open this new office emerged from the need to be closer to our ongoing projects, allowing us to oversee progress effectively while simultaneously working on fresh opportunities. We aim to create architecture that not only reflects the unique essence of Cornwall and the vibrant Cornish experience but also brings tangible benefits to the local community and its people.

Having a new office in the picturesque region of Cornwall presents a truly fantastic opportunity to not only expand our reach but also to foster much deeper connections with the vibrant and diverse local community. Inspired by the stunning and ever-changing Cornish landscape, dynamic lifestyle, and the wonderfully diverse peoples that inhabit this region, we aspire to create architecture that is not just visually beautiful but also genuinely innovative, meticulously well-crafted, sustainable, and everlasting. We are genuinely delighted and grateful that our time in Cornwall has been so thoroughly rewarding and fruitful. After successfully designing and developing the thoughtful conversion of a former school into multiple dwellings at the historic site of ‘St Pauls’ in Penzance, alongside creating a stunning collection of high-end new build houses called ‘Trebarvah’ situated in Constantine on the picturesque outskirts of Falmouth, we have also had the privilege of designing several private residences throughout the enchanting Duchy of Cornwall. With our extensive experience working within this beautiful part of the UK, Alter Architects is eager to collaborate with local communities and produce innovative architecture that enhances and deeply serves the vibrant people of Cornwall and their unique needs.
